When you can't think of anything meaningful to do, obstruct

One of my blogger friends, Dan at Republican Dan, is the son of
David Gelernter, Yale professor and senior fellow at the Shalem Center, Jerusalem. Gelernter has a column in the Los Angeles Times that hits the mark on Democrat obstructionism, which the party has adopted as its only strategy for the foreseeable future.

Yes, of course. Why didn't I see it before. It's an Israeli conspiracy. Thank God there's another conspiracy that Bush has fallen victim to. For a while there, it seemed he was just independently incompetent. Now, at least, he has someone leading him astray, rather than just his own intellectual failings.

It's not like Israel is really all alone in the Mid-East, surrounded by political and religious enemies. That old dog just won't hunt when you look at the geography and the distribution of Muslims and Jews. Clearly, the Jews are not out numbered, or surrounded by bitter enemies of thousands of years.

And I'm comforted to know that The New York Times is a Jewish newspaper, and that it is sympathetic to Israel and the problems that those folks falsely believe threaten their future.

What a revelation!
